LBJC Alum Sam Melvin Reaches World Championship A Final in Amsterdam

LBJC alumnus Sam Melvin advanced to the men’s single sculls A Final at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam — the first U.S. men’s single sculler to reach a World Championship A Final since James Koven in 1997. Sam learned to scull on Marine Stadium, and every LBJC athlete will be watching the final.

LBJC Earns Three Nationals Bids, Four Medals at Southwest Regional Championship

LBJC delivered a strong showing at the 2026 USRowing Southwest Regional Championship, earning three bids to Nationals and four medals. The U15 Coxed Quad took gold and the Southwest Regional title, the U17 Quad and Men’s Double each claimed silver, and the Men’s Varsity Quad earned bronze. The Varsity Quad, U17 Quad, and Women’s Pair all qualified for the USRowing Youth National Championships.
